How Load Attachments Work
Once a driver is assigned to a load, they can access that load in the Highway mobile app and add attachments from their device. Drivers may be assigned by the broker through the TMS or Highway UI, or by the carrier.
From the mobile app, drivers can:
Take a photo
Scan a document
Upload an existing document
PDF is the only accepted file type for upload
Drivers can upload a single file or add multiple attachments at once. There is no limit to the number of attachments that can be added to a load.
When uploading an attachment, the driver must choose a label that best describes the file. Available labels include:
Bill of Lading
Cab Card
Cargo Condition
Proof of Delivery
Scale Ticket
Seal
Trailer Condition
Trailer License Plate
Truck License Plate
VIN Plate
Other
Viewing Load Attachments
Broker users can view and download load attachments from the Documents tab in Highway’s load UI.
Only broker users with permission to view and manage loads can access and download attachments.
Troubleshooting
If a driver is unable to access a load or upload attachments, confirm the following:
The driver is a Highway user. Drivers must either request to join their carrier or be invited by the carrier before they can sign in to the Highway mobile app.
The driver has shared their location with the Highway mobile app. Location sharing is required to access the Loads page.
The driver is assigned to the load. Drivers will only see loads assigned to them, and only the assigned driver can upload attachments to that load.
Carrier users with load management permissions can view attachments, but they cannot add, download, or delete them.
